Referees

Nathan Brearley
Nathan who hails from Buckley is now in his second season on the Referees panel after a successful first season. This will be Nathans sixth season as a referee. He enjoys all sports and is also proficient at cricket and Golf. Nathan is a Sports teacher at a prestigious private school in Chester. Last season Nathan officiated on the Welsh Trophy Final and also been elevated to the Welsh Premier League Assistant Referees panel

Ian Evans
Ian who hails from Wrexham played football extensively at level four prior to taking up refereeing . This will be Ian’s eighth season on the Huws Gray Alliance referees panel. Ian is employed as a Quality Assurance Inspector in Wrexham by a leading multinational breakfast cereal manufacturer. Ian has many interests mainly sports related. Ian has refereed the NEWFA Challenge Cup Final

Mark Farrington
Mark who hails from Newtown in Powys and is employed by Royal Mail and this is his Fourth season on the full panel of the league after having a distinguished career as a goalkeeper in the Spar Mid Wales League. Mark is married with two young children and also enjoys cricket and travelling in his leisure time., Mark has officiated at the Central Wales FA Cup Final as well as the FAW trophy final.

Michael Gray
This is Michaels second season on the referees panel after starting refereeing at the tender age of 14. Michael hails from Rhyl and comes from a family steeped in refereeing with grandfather Wally, father Glenn and brother Liam all well known in refereeing circles. Michael has officiated on the NWCFA Cup final at on the Wales v Sweden u-17 international.

Iwan Griffiths
Iwan who is 23 years of age has lived in the Conwy Area for the last 12 months and has served on the Huws Gray Alliance league since he was sixteen. Originally hailing from Bontnewydd near Caernarfon, this is Iwan’s second season of the referees panel and he has been employed by BBC Radio Cymru for the last three years. This is Iwan’s second season on the referees panel and has also officiated on the NWCFA Challenge Cup Final.

Dave Fawkes
This is Dave s second season on the full panel of the Huws Gray Alliance League. He is employed as Leasing Company Executive. Dave hails from Gwersyllt near Wrexham and is also Chairman of the North East Wales Referees Association. Apart from Football Dave enjoys a day out and a flutter at the Races and also enjoys caravanning with his family as a way of relaxing.

Andy Harms
Andy needs no introduction, having started out as a referee as a fourteen year old and has progressed as a top referee in North Wales over the last 20 years. He is married to Carolyn and has two children Sophie and Benjamin. Andy has officiated at many finals in his career to date including our own League cup Final as well as officiating on several European Appointments in Russia, ,Serbia, Iceland and Norway.

Steve Hughes
Steve who resides in Connahs Quay with his wife Jayne and young daughter Esme and is employed as a chemical engineer He started out as a referee following a long and successful career in the Welsh Premier and Cymru Alliance Leagues. He played for Caersws, Buckley Town and Airbus UK during this time. Since taking up the whistle he has progressed quickly being fast tracked vial the FAW development scheme. This will be Steve’s first season as a referee on the Huws Gray Alliance Referees Panel. Last season Steve officiated on the Huws Gray Alliance Cup Final and the FAW Trophy final as an Assistant Referee

Aled Rhys Jones
Aled who hails from Cilcennin near Lampeter, is married with 3 children and is employed As an area officer with the Farmers Union of Wales. This is Aled’s sixth season as a referee and his third on the full panel of the League after a successful playing career which has stood him in good stead as a referee. Last season Aled officiated on the Welsh Regions Cup Final and also on the Ladies Welsh Cup final. Away from football Aled keeps busy on his farm in Cilcennin.

Gareth W Jones
Gareth hails from Bontnewydd Caernarfon and started refereeing in 2001 at the age of 16. In 2009 he was promoted onto the Huws Gray Alliance referees list. He has been an Assistant Referee in the Huws Gray Alliance, a referee in the NWCFA Cup Final and an Assistant referee in the Welsh Cup Final.. He has been selected by FAW to attend a UEFA Referees training course in Switzerland where a received a diploma in refereeing. Gareth is employed by a Local Housing Association in Gwynedd and enjoys swimming, and singing in the local male voice choir.

Scott Longley
Scott who resides in Meliden near Prestatyn works in administration for a large Funeral Company. He has played football for both Meliden and Prestatyn Town but hung up his boots due to injury. Started refereeing in 2007 and was promoted to the Huws Gray Referees panel this season after a successful season at level 3. Last season Scott officiated as Assistant Referee on both the Huws Gray League Cup final and the NWCFA Senior challenge cup final.

John Bryn Roberts
John or JB as he is affectionately known in football circles comes from Llanllyfmi near Caernarfon and is a self employed flue liner specialist. This will be Johns seventh season on the referees panel and during that time he has been one of the most consistent referees on our panel. He has served on the FIFA Assistant Referees panel for a number of seasons and has travelled extensively across Europe officiating. Last season John had the honour of refereeing the Huws Gray Alliance League Cup Final.

Neil Rutter
Neil who comes from Abermule in Mid Wales has served as a Police Officer for the last eight years and is currently attached to Mid Wales roads policing unit. This is Neil’ second spell on the referees panel having been promoted from the Spar Mid Wales League where he has been officiating for the last 7 seasons. He is married to Nicola and has two daughters Mollie and Lily.

Martin W Roberts
This will be Martins second season on the referees list of the League following on from a successful first season and overall it will be Martin’s sixth season as a referee and he have moved quickly through the ranks with many consistent performances. Martin who hails from Llangefni is employed in the finance department of Anglesey County Council. His hobbies apart from football include cricket, ten pin bowling, cycling and having a round of golf.

Phil Roszkowski
Phil who hails from Wrexham is now in his eleventh season on the Referees panel having player at Cymru Alliance football prior to taking up the whistle. He is employed as an Intensive Support Worker in the Wrexham Area where he lives with his wife Susan.and family. Phil’s interests outside football include swimming, ,mountain biking, lomg distance running, fishing and hill walking. Highlight of his career was officiating at the Welsh Cup Final in 2010.

Gwynne Vaughan
Gwynne has been employed as a teacher for many years in the Conwy area and has been refereeing for 11 seasons following a successful career as a player in the North Wales Coast Area. He is married to Elizabeth and they have a six year old daughter...This will be Gwynne’s sixth season on the referees panel and the highlight of his career so far was officiating on the Welsh Premier League Cup Final several seasons ago. His hobbies include listening to music, walking and spending time with his family.

Martin Williams
Martin who hails from Johnstown near Wrexham is married with two children. This is Martins ninth season on the full list after taking up refereeing in 1997. Martin ie employed on the assembly at Vauxhall Motors in Ellesmere Port. Very much a family man his wife Carl acts as his PA and he is keen for his son to progress into refereeing in the future. Martin has been fourth official on the Huws Gray League Cup final and has also had the honour of officiating at the Welsh Cup Final.

James Walker
James who comes from Flint commenced refereeing in 2009 and was quickly invited to join the FAW Development programme and this cumulated in him being fast tracked through the system and invited onto the Huw Gray Alliance referees panel for 2012/13. A former football player and manager James is interested in all sports . He is employed by St Davids High School where he is head of the Upper School. Married to Faye they have a young son called Joe .
