Match report from Airbus Broughton web site

AIRBUS were given a harsh lesson in the reality of life in the Huws Gray Alliance as they crashed to a 4-0 defeat at FC Queens Park.

It wasn't just grit and determination that earned the win for the newly-promoted hosts, although there was plenty of that, but played superior football and fully deserved their win.

Although the Wingmakers had plenty of early possession, the early signs were ominous as Andy Coughlin made a flying save to deny the hosts, who then hit the crossbar, before Nathan Buckley fired wide from a good position.

Wes Baynes fired well over for the visitors after a Mark Jones shot had been blocked and Aaron Bowen had a shot blocked at close range by keeper Joel Dixon, but Queens Park took the lead on 37 minutes when Airbus failed to clear a corner and Danny Myers hooked the ball into the net.

Minutes later, the lead was doubled as Mike Latham fired home a penalty after a foul in the box, and manager Andy Thomas took half-time action by replacing Bailey Jackson and Pavel Vieira with Luke Busumbru and Ronny Song.

Ryan Edwards had the ball in the net just after the break from a Song pass, but was flagged offside and it was the hosts who virtually killed-off the game when Latham played in Sean Skimmings, who made no mistake.

Coughlin saved a Latham penalty, but Airbus were further behind a minute later when Skimmings scored again from a Buckley assist.
