Buckley Town go into this season with plenty of changes both on and off the pitch. Manager Gareth Thomas has paid tribute to the committee who have worked hard over the summer breakimproving the ground with new dug outs, medical and drug testing rooms and drainage work all gone on at Globe Way whilst at present new turnstyles are being installed to improve the Ground yet again.
With the work gone on off the pitch Perry has been working hard to improve the squad as the club looks to challenge for the title in what will be a very competitive league yet again this season. Last season was a superb league to be involved in with the level of football being the strongest the league has been for years, yet the top clubs have all invested and improved there squads yet again pre season. With this in mind we felt we needed to change personnel and improve the squad with us adding the following players Defenders Mike Parry, Lee Bull, Matthew Hughes, James Davies, midfielders Ben Smith, Derek Taylor, Tom Smith and forword Mike Burke have all arrived whilst the following players have left the club Stu Hayes, Jack Chaloner, Jack Rowlands, Terry Pugh, Liam Jones and Jack Delgado whilst both Phil Molyneux and Gareth Caughter are out with long term injuries. Pre season has gone well with us having 9 games which has let the new players gel into the squad, we've played some decent sides and held our own winning 5 drawing 1 and losing 3, though it's the performances and not the results that have been impressive and important to the coaching staff.
All at Globe Way look forward to the new season which see's us kick off on Friday with a derby game at Flint which should be a cracker as the surface there these days look quality with the amount of work they've carried out over the summer.
