FULL time Mypa 5 Cefn Druids 0
Cefn Druiids's dream of further European glory ended as MyPa fire five goals without reply to progress to the next round.
Bangor City also went out of Europe losing 1-2 at Zimbru Chisinau
MATCH REPORT
Druids were going into the match with their heads held high after last week’s goalless draw in the first leg, but were seen as distinct underdogs.
The hosts had their first chance in the ninth minute when Chris Mullock saved to deny Olijade Williams.
It proved to be a busy evening for the Druids keeper as he then saved two efforts from David Ramadingaye in the 12th and 14th minutes.
At the other end Kieran Quinn, who came close to giving Druids a first leg lead last week, forced Antti Kuismala into a save as The Ancients tried to get a foothold into the match.
But that foothold wasn’t forthcoming as questions were constantly asked of the Druids defence and Mullock, but they remained resolute.
But the stoic defence was broken in the 25th minute when Niko Kukka supplied Nongotamba A Lody and he broke the deadlock with the first goal of the tie.
Twelve minutes later it was 2-0 when Williams saw his effort come back off the woodwork but, before the ball could be cleared by the Druids rearguard, Ville Saxman was able to beat Mullock.
Then, on the stroke of half-time the tie was effectively over for Druids when Williams got on the scoresheet with his side’s third of the evening.
Two minutes into the second half and Druids conceded a fourth as Riley O’Neill ensured any dreams of a second half fightback were well and truly extinguished as he converted Ramadingaye’s ball.
It was nearly five for the Finns in the 52nd minute when Kukka’s free-kick struck the woodwork.
The introduction of Tom McElmeel and Joe Price did little to halt the tide that was flowing towards Druids defence and the fifth goal came when David Opoku found the net from Marko Selin’s ball.
Mullock denied Selin a sixth goal for his side while Mike Burke and Robbie James both missed the target as the match came to a close.
