Richard Harvey Goalkeeper  DOB: 25/7/1982

An experienced keeper who started his career as a youngster at the Traeth. Following an operation for a long term back problem in the summer of 2014 he went on to have one of his best ever seasons. A tremendous shot stopper the Club captain was voted Supporters Player of the Season in 2016/17 and 2014/15 for his outstanding performances. Often Port’s only keeper, the club have been indebted to Richard for his consistency over 11 seasons which included a run of 55 consecutive HGA games for the club between 2010 and 2012. His former clubs include Macclesfield and Llangefni.

Tyler French Goalkeeper DOB 14/10/1996.

Tyler first joined Port from CPD Penrhyndeudraeth in September 2016 as cover for injured Richard Harvey making 12 starts for the club during 2016/17.He repaid Craig Papirnyk faith in him with some heroic performances, none more so than his match winning 3 penalty saves in the Welsh Cup tie against Gresford. Tyler came through the Porthmadog Academy and has gained senior experience at Blaenau Ffestiniog, Barmouth and Penrhyn during recent season.

Gruff John Williams Defender Midfield  DOB: 22/06/1994

First played for Port in 2012, having signed from CPD Llanrug with whom he won caps at U-18 Schools level for Wales. A genuine utility player, Gruff is equally at home anywhere along the back four or in midfield. One of the most promising young players in the area he is cool under pressure and strong going forward. Developing into a dangerous free kick specialist around the box scoring some dramatic goals. He is already making his mark on the Cymru Alliance and by the start of the current season he has totalled 130 (+14) appearances for the club. Has a degree in Sport, Health and Physical Education from Bangor University.

Josh Banks Defender DOB 21/05/1992

Starting his fifth season at the Traeth, having joined Port from Welsh Alliance club Pwllheli in October 2012. An experienced pacy defender who loves to attack and is also good in the air. After making an immediate impression at the Traeth he has developed into one of the best attacking left backs in the Cymru Alliance. In his five seasons at the Traeth he has played 135(+5) games for the club.

Iddon Price Defender / Midfield  DOB:18/01/1991

Returned to Porthmadog in October 2014 from CPD Penrhyndeudraeth, a club he helped gain promotion to the Welsh Alliance First Division. He can play in midfield or at the back. But last season he established himself as a central defender enjoying an outstanding season which resulted in him being names the supporters Player of the Season. He is a strong, highly effective defender who is not easily outpaced and his experience in midfield has led to many Port moves starting with his accurate passes. In his 3 seasons at the Traeth he has played 83 (+1) games for the club.

Steve Bratt Defender  DOB:20/10/1987

Joined Porthmadog in November 2015 from Barmouth and Dyffryn FC and since joining has made 29(+6) appearances for the club. He is a good old fashioned, no nonsense defender. Brought to the club to provide experience and a hard edge to the defence. Showed this uncompromising style in the games he played since joining. Well known to manager Craig Papirnyk, who played alongside him at Barmouth.

Dan Roberts Defender DOB: 14/12/1997

Joined Port in July 2016 having previously played for Wrexham FC. An exciting new signing last season he has made 20(+1) appearances which were restricted by a mid-season injury .An intelligent footballer, tall and strong with good technical ability. Shows great maturity in his play and is a powerful runner with the ball.

Ceri James Midfield DOB: 01/12/1983

First arrived at the Traeth in June 2009, returning in June 2012. He has played 92 (+18) WPL matches for Porthmadog and Welshpool and also represented Llandyrnog United, Denbigh Town and Melville United in New Zealand. He left Porthmadog for New Zealand in January 2010, where he was an instant success for the Northern League club and voted players player of the year in 2011. Directs play from central midfield with good close control and excellent distribution.

Rob Evans Midfield DOB: 24/01/1989

Re-joined Porthmadog in August 2013 from Caersws, having previously played 13 WPL games for the club on loan from Aberystwyth in 2009/10. He is a skilful, inventive midfielder from Dolgellau who loves to run at defences and has an eye for goal. Has also played at right back when necessary. Has played 90 (+14) HGA games for Port. He started his career in the Aberystwyth academy coming through the reserves before making 30 (+28) WPL appearances for the club. He has also played for Bala in WPL.

Chris Jones  Midfield  DOB: 09/10/1985

Re-joined Port in July 2016 from Bangor City. He has previously spent two seasons at the Traeth between 2008/10 before switching to Bangor.in his stints at Caernarfon ,Llangefni ,Port and Bangor he has racked up a total of 259(+38) WPL appearances, scoring 56 goals. Well remembered is his winning Europa League goal he scored for Bangor against Finnish club Honka. He has brought great experience and know-how to the club .In 2016/17 he made 32(+1) appearances scoring 9 goals. The talented forward was with Leeds Utd as a young player as well as Bournemouth and Limerick.

Sion Bradley Winger  DOB 22/02/1998

A young player from Blaenau Ffestiniog who signed for Port in January 2017 on loan from Bangor City playing 10 (+2) games and scoring 4goals .Sion was also named HGA Player of the Month for February .Previously a key part of a successful Port Academy squad and started at Bangor for the U19’s during their 2015/16 success in the WPL development League. A pacey forward with an eye for goal and has an excellent record of assists for other forwards. He has also played for Blaenau Amateurs ,Bala U19s and Penrhyndeudraeth.

Gareth Jones Evans   DOB 02/07/1992

Re-joined Port in the summer of 2016 having previously played for the club between 2010-12.Left the club in 2012 to play for Holyhead Hotspurs and later moved to Caernarfon Town. On his return he quickly re-established himself as a key creative midfielder with his ability to quickly turn defence into attack .he has pace, excellent distribution and can score with some cracking shorts from distance. He has played 55(+9) HGA games for Port.

Cai Jones Forward DOB: 03/10/1992

Re-joined Porthmadog in September 2014 from Caernarfon Town. Made his WPL début for Port as a 17 year-old coming off the bench in Tomi Morgan’s first game in charge against Bangor City in February 2009. He had previously impressed in a successful Porthmadog Academy team and for the Reserves. Capped for Welsh Schools at Under 18 level. He went on to make 11 (+10) WPL appearances for the club. In the 2010/11 season he made 18 (+18) HGA appearances for Port before signing for Caernarfon Town where he played for three seasons. Since his return he has played 85(+38) games for the club.

Joe Chaplin Forward DOB 11/10/1992

The highly rated striker who joined Port in June 2017 having netted an impressive 16 goals in 20 games for relegated Conwy Borough last season. Joe attended Cardiff Mets between 2011 and 2014 contributing to their back-to-back Welsh league (south) promotions. Following the completion of his degree, he played for Glan Conwy before joining Conwy Borough. He signed for Llandudno in January 2017 but returned to finish the season with Conwy. Played at U16 level for Llandudno,

Julian Williams Forward DOB: 03/04/1995

Joined Port in August 2016 after spending a season on loan from Rhyl FC in 2015/16. He made his first team debut for Rhyl in April 2015. A quick, skilful forward with a dangerous left foot shot. Has a great attitude and works hard for the team. He spent most of 2014/15 season on loan at Holyhead Hotspur and also spent time on loan with Holywell Town. His former clubs include Llandudno and Llanrwst United

Meilir Williams Forward DOB 20/11/1996

A young player from Blaenau Ffestiniog who joined Port at the end of January 2017 from CPD Penrhyndeudraeth. He played an important role in a successful Port Academy Squad and has now returned to the Traeth. A quick dangerous striker who has excellent goal scoring record. In his time at Penrhyn he netted 60 goals in just 54 games. Has already proved himself a goal poacher for Port scoring 4 times in 5 (+7) appearances. Meilir has also played for Blaenau Amateurs and Bala U19s.

Craig Papirnyk Manager

In 2016/17 Craig led Port to their best finish since 2012.Craig joined Porthmadog in August 2013 as a player and later player coach from his home town club Barmouth and Dyffryn FC. In May 2014 he succeeded Gareth Parry as club manager and went on to enjoy an outstanding first season in that role. He immediately set about rebuilding the squad and the coaching team, proving that he possessed an exceptional eye for talent and brought in several young players who have gone on to make their mark at the Traeth. He has shown a keen tactical brain and his excellent man management has enabled him to get the very best out of a small squad. Craig’s previous clubs also include Bala Town and Ruthin Town and as a 22 year-old player-manager he lead Barmouth to the Gwynedd League title in 2006/07, taking the club into the third tier of Welsh football for the first time in 35 years

Guy Handscombe

Guy is a key figure in Craig’s backroom staff since joining Port in September 2014. He combines duties as assistant manager and academy director. He holds a coaching position with the Welsh Football Trust and is the Football Development Officer for the NWCFA area. He is an experienced, highly motivated and qualified coach having been Academy Director, Community Officer and Reserve team manager with a number of clubs including, Bala Town, Cefn Druids and Wrexham FC. He holds an UEFA ‘A’ Licence and is a Level One and Level Two FAW Coach Educator. He has also worked with North Wales Regional Squads. In his playing career his former clubs include Penley, Rhos Aelwyd and Gresford and he had trials with Shrewsbury Town
